The following mini documentary follows six classes of our first graders from Jefferson Elementary as they create a project called Beach Trash, A Whale of a Problem. The students collected beach trash for several weeks and worked with environmental artist Teresa Espaniola to turn it into a life-sized gray whale mosaic, all while learning about the ocean and the role they can play in saving our seas. The trash whale was on display at SEA LIFE Aquarium:
