Recently we unveiled the school’s new obstacle course, called the “Patch Obstacle Course.” Students, staff and representatives from Egoscue, Inc., makers of the Patch, demonstrated the jumping, crawling, climbing, and ducking movement that the Patch provides. This will help our students develop strength, cardio, stamina, balance, focus and coordination.
“The main goal of the Patch Fitness system is to get kids moving and get them excited. So far once they get on, they don't want to get off,” said Jefferson Elementary Principal Chad Lund. “What I enjoy most is watching their confidence build and knowing, intrinsically, that we have planted a seed in these children. If they continue to move, they will always be in a better place.”
Thank yous go to Egoscue, Inc., West Coast Flooring and a family foundation for their financial support, allowing the school to obtain the new fitness equipment, free of any cost to the school.
Jefferson Elementary educates each student to become a life-long learner. Through the International Baccalaureate program, we nurture and inspire multilingual, respectful, global citizens to lead and create positive change.
